After three years working for myself in property, I moved my savings into long-term investments. I miss the teamwork and meeting new people that come with working for a company. This is why I am looking for new challenges, to add value to a larger business.
I managed the content of my website and Facebook page to showcase numerous homes for sale. My goal was to leverage the internet in addition to estate agents’ promotion efforts, or Rightmove, to generate as much demand from house buyers as possible. My web site enabled me to practice Search Engine Optimisation, content management and advertise independently of Rightmove.
When two of my houses in Harrogate, North Yorkshire went on sale on the open market by a well-known estate agent, I made sure I conducted the viewings in person. Logically I could offer the most detailed knowledge of the building work and house buyers would receive the story of each house.
As the company owner, I had the strongest motive to achieve a sale and was more flexible when arranging viewing appointments. The process worked best when I was in direct communication with the buyer as it leads to a win-win faster than relaying communications through solicitors or estate agents.
